New google WIKI vote for terms

Currently this is only for the individual's Google account. I doubt this will influence natural search in the future, at least not in a significant way as it can so easily be manipulated with large groups getting together to boost results. All voting style sites suffer this.

Google have been talking about what they call personalised search for some time, this looks to be the first steps in that direction. I think it might be more about Google learning about us and how we search than a means of directly influencing what might dhow up in general SERPs.

One thing I was curious about, hoever - and I'm testing this right now with a completely idolated, unlinked html page - is if you add an unindexed page to your results for a particular term, will that page ultimately get indexed in the general results.

This stuff doesn't affect rankings in any way other than having the site you vote for show up big time in your own rankings. It goes to the top actually and in further searches it either gets to the top or in the top few regardless of how lame the actual ranking is. Nothing to disable here for sure although you don't want to use it at all if you check rankings, for obvious reasons.
