Sorta, anyway.
Here is a recap of the top search phrases for 2008 from Yahoo:
Yahoo Buzz 2008 Year In Review.
Top search phrases included:
- Britney Spears
- WWE
- Barack Obama
- Miley Cyrus
- Runescape
- Jessica Alba
- Naruto
- Lindsay Lohan
- Angelina Jolie
- American Idol
There's a lot of additional information there, but I can apply this information to my poker marketing plan. For one thing, I could just add the word "poker" to each of the above phrases to see if there's any interesting content I can find to write about related to each topic.
I can come up with 2 or 3 different ways to approach the topic of "Britney Spears" + "Poker" - can you?
Ask.com also has a section devoted to its most popular searches:
Ask Top 2008 Searches. These include:
- Dictionary
- Myspace
- Google
- YouTube
- Facebook
- Coupons
- Cars
- Craigslist
- Online degrees
- Credit score
Some of those, like #9 and #10, would be hard to create poker content around, but some of them are pretty doggone easy.
Google only offers some of their top "products" or "shopping" keyword phrases, but it might be worth looking at too:
Google Product top searches. Here are some of them:
1. nintendo wii
2. wii fit
3. ipod touch
4. xbox 360
5. nintendo ds
6. ipod nano
7. uggs
8. nikon d90
9. zune
10. digital picture frame
This list is probably a little less helpful, although a moment or two of brainstorming might make you think of "poker video games" as a potential search phrase.
