To your original question: Personally, unless it's over 40 pages, I always put everything up at once so it's a complete site. However, if you've got 150 pages, you may benefit traffic-wise to put 40-50 on and then 1 a day until you run out of content.
As for putting someone else's RSS on your site, I can attest that this does, indeed, help with getting Google and other spiders to come crawling back every day. I'm currently getting spidered 1-3 times a day from Google, and various amounts from Inktomi, Lycos, MSN, etc.
And yes, having your own RSS feed is even better, though it's more work. The benefit of having other webmasters use it on their website is that it feeds you PR (assuming they use PHP and not JavaScript or something SE's won't pick up on) and it feeds you traffic when someone clicks on the link to the full article. The only danger is possible duplicate content issues, but nobody can confirm/deny that for sure.
