No, I'm not mad and yes, I know April Fools was four days ago...
...but it seems that another PR update took place...
...despite the fact that January update wasn't even finished.
I see that a lot of sites (both mines and mine friends) that were set up in late February are now showing page rank... well, they actually show very high pr - 4 or 5 - despite being a little than one month old and having just few inbound links! At the same time all of my older, solid sites remain unchanged. So definitely not a 'classical update'... Honestly I have no idea what's going on with G... Do you see any changes on your sites?
I have also noticed Google link popularity update... of course you won't see it by simply typing
link:www.yoursite.com... depending which DC your query is redirected to you will see results from dec'05... or feb'06... or apr'06... or maybe even something else... This is a mess isn't it?
Same situation on the SERP front. I don't know how are you doing guys in the english Google.com - but my site has really suffered in polish language results from Google.pl. Well, it's not that I was beaten by hard working competition... instead I dropped from pole position (search term 'poker') to 9th, being overtaken by a bunch of spam sites...
In fact, being quite experienced at SEO I'm rather used to seeing some crappy site appear at the top of the list... but they usually dissapper pretty quickly. This time they're sitting there quit comfortably:
Google.pl
Take a look at the first position - it's quite interesting - I've never seen this kind of exploit - does anyone know how it works?
To sum it up: Google becomes more and more of a mess. I could accept that it was providing 'false' information for SEoptimizers, showing us different PRs after the last update, but right now it just provides its customers with the worst search results ever...
What's your opinion on that?
