Default Migrating a Blogger hosted blog to www.abc.com URL and word press

I'm looking to take a well developed blog of mine to a hosted URL and switch to Word Press at the same time. I tried contacting Blogudio to get a quote but they aren't returning emails after a week.

Anyone here know of a good company or individual to do this work?

You can do the migrating yourself. Wordpress has an import tab in the admin panel, where you can import your blogger blogs. For themes, you can browse hundreds of free ones here http://themes.wordpress.net/

I just migrated one from blogspot this way, it's fairly simple.

Yeah, I don't want to lose my PR and I'm also looking for a custom template. How'd your PR do in the transistion?

lost it.

But, I felt like I had to do it for the long term. It was just about a week ago. Are you moving mike's blog? I'd like to know if it's possible to do it without losing pr. If it is, then I screwed up.

I'm going to see if I can move it all to my own server, then do a 301 redirect on all of the postings to the new domain. I'll let you know how it works out but I'm probably going to wait a month or so before I do it.

I think I am totally missing something. Is it possible to do a 301 redirect from blogspot?

My blog was only PR3 with just a small amount of traffic, so I wasn't too worried. In any case, keep us posted on how it goes.

You will lose your PR for sure ... only reason you had that PR in the first place is because you were attatched to blogger, a PR10

How do you figure that? I always figured that my PR jumped due to my content, links, and relevance to the subject matter

If you're right, then I can just toss up a one entry blog and let it keep climbing the PR ranks, right?

You're way off base here bud. You don't get instant PR just because you use Blogger.

And where is your proof that your content links and relevance is what gives PR? I don't know your exact blog URL so I cant say for sure how many quality backlinks you have.

And, no , I am not way off the base here.
Look at one of my hundreds of blogs - http://kylehealey.blogspot.com

1. There are no backlinks
2. It got a PR4 with only two posts on it, then started posting more.

Blogger is a PR 10 - an authority - you in turn take a subdomain of that site and after the next update, have a PR for yourself.

But since as usual I don't know what the hell I'm talking about so go ahead and move your blog, and get your PR back in a year or two...
