Default Page Title and H1 tags

Any opinions from the SEO guys out there on using similar or the same keywords in your H1 tag as well as the page title and url.

I have read this is bad, but in one respect if your page is very specific, say about "purple poker chips", how do you get away from not using the keywords purple and poker chips in all of these, (meta tags, url, title, h1).

Thanks

im not an seo wizard but what i have read, it's not bad at all, but encouraged, however i think things change all the time, i even read somewhere not to long ago, that h1 tags, description tags, and keyword tags are becoming less important in seo efforts, i rarley ever use h1 tags, and i seem to always find googles first page for certain keywords. I think the title tag is more important than an h1 tag, but that is only my opinion and i wouldnt want anyone to go off that b/c i could be way off....

I wouldn't advise using identical keywords for all those elements. Definitely mix them up, and try to include other words to dilute the density of them.

Mind you, it's up to you to decide how far you want to push these pages to the limit. If you're already building a lot of links for them with similar anchor text then you may want to consider being very careful with those elements, if not, and the page isn't too well linked then I'd say go for it.

Focus less on contrasting title/h1/meta tags, and focus more on one-way backlinks from authorities and high traffic related niche sites.
