Neat line of script

Heres a neat line of script to add to your sitmap.php file. When Google's bot crawls your site you will get an email to let you know replace the email with your own and paste the script below


mail('', 'Google Sitemaps Bot', 'The Google Sitemap Bot has accessed your sitemap');



When site is crawled you will get an email like this:

To:	scrappy@bucknakedpoker.com
Subject:	Google Sitemaps Bot

The Google Sitemap Bot has accessed your sitemap

Why not just check it through your google webmaster tools? It gives you the last date which is usually every day or two (at least mine has been) and all the stats you need.

I just like it because its my host telling me and I go and watch the directories as it crawls them. But of course most people would rather log into there Google account and di it that way. I am still only about 3 days into setting up seo scripts so I can now watch to see what the bot is doing. Example below. Also my google webmaster area does not seem to update like yours does. Mine takes a couple of days to tell me when it last crawled my site. Maybe if you could let me know how you have set yours up to update when your sites crawled I would appreciate it.
