Okay, I'm ready for more graphics work. You can see some of my work at
ThePokerBonus.com, I designed everything on that site from scratch. Although I'm not a 'logo guru', I have designed a number of logos and made happy customers. Plus, my logos are usually pretty cheap, about $50 if it's not too complicated. I'm best at really clean designs, and I'm also good with chrome/metal looking images. I've done literally thousands and thousands of images of all kinds, I can do pretty much anything.
For some other ideas on how to make your site look more professional or to jazz it up, here's a few. Most of the ideas below can be done for around $15-$25.
1/ Promotional banners that
say something. My problem with most banners is that they don't really say anything except 'sign up here'. Secondly, they typically aren't used properly. Graphic images should be used to help 'push' your visitors into doing what you want them to do, or to read accompanying text that you want them to focus on. Take a look at the
Ultimate Bet image on the top, right side of the page. When I realized that players don't have to play a million hours of poker to actually be able to win a new PS3, I thought that was really cool and started playing the points tables myself. Now, I play at
UB for real money a lot more than I ever did before. I use these types of images to enhance the reasons that a player should sign up at this particular room. I could use that space for a useless banner, or I can use common sense thoughts and find real reasons why a player should play here. On this particular page, I've already told players that my favorite site for Mac users is
UB, so then I try to give them more reasons to sign up at
UB with this image that says something real.
2/ Running a freeroll, giving away an XBox360, doing any other kinds of promotions that make your site stand out? I can create a great image for you to get your visitors attention.
3/ Want to integrate a US flag and 'Play Now' or 'Download Pokerstars' image together? These types of buttons add professionalism and clean layout, while also telling visitors that this room accepts US players and encourages them to visit the room. See what I'm talking about on the same link as above.
4/ Use something crazy or funny to get their attention. When PartyPoker left the US market I made an image to go along with an article where I took the PartyPoker logo and changed it to 'PartyPooper'. It looked exactly like the logo and enhanced the article's effectiveness. When Neteller left the US, their banner had a picture of the whole world with text that read 'Accepted Everywhere'. I added a big arrow that pointed to the US and added 'Except Here'. Again, it helped make the point and generate reader interest. Humor is a great way to get peoples attention, and used too little in our industry.
