Wordpress Question about Child Categories

Does anyone know if it is possible to only show the child categories when the parent categories have been clicked.

For example have the category sidebary normally showing:
Full Tilt Poker
Poker Stars

then when Full Tilt is clicked showing:

Full Tilt Poker
Review
Promotions
Etc.
PokerStars

So it would bring up all the Full Tilt posts, but then you can further specify by choosing a child category.

Any help would be appreciated, I couldn't find the answer from searching wordpress forums.

So, you have a category heirarchy? If I understood correctly, you are wanting to show the children of the "current" category, correct?

 
$category = get_the_category(); 
$category = $category[0]->cat_ID;
wp_list_categories('orderby=id&show_count=1&use_desc_for_title=0&child_of='.$category);

Sometimes the code doesn't parse correctly here, pm me if you have any problems with it.
