Default Need help with Joomla Modules!

Hi guys this is my first post, and im new to web designing and building sites, i bought a domain 2/3 weeks ago and want to make a poker site im using joomla 1.5 and want to know a few things as im a complete beginnger to this. my first Q would be how do you build a module that shows the poker rooms with a link ive attached a image with an example of pokernews website. or do you have to get an custom made module???

You can use a HTML_Mod just go to the Joomla Site and you will find it there.

i know a little about html and i do know the extension your talking about but i dont know how to create something like that, i mean i see something like this on most poker affiliates sites how do u go about in making this. any help would be appreciated, just so

Create a new HTML module and choose a position in the template for it, or use an existing module. Then, create at table inside the module, and assign one column for the logo, one for the text, one for the link etc.
Actually that's pretty easy basic Joomla stuff. No knowledge of HTML involved at all - if there was I'd be in deep shit

thanks catfish, its pretty much what i wanted, one more thing do you know how to get these lines betweeen the pokerrooms.

Use the format function in the Joomla table editor. Depending on which text editor you use, you can even prepare that table in Excel, edit its design (frames, underlining etc.) and then copy/paste it into the module's window.
Btw, try using the JCK editor module instead of the one that comes with Joomla. It has several advantages, like internal links, direct picture upload and formatting functions etc.
